Ayurvedic Medicine
Ayurvedic (’science of life’) medicine, says that prevention is better than cure… Ayurvedic (’science of life’) medicine is one of the oldest medical systems in the world. It takes a holistic approach and prevention is the key: patients are seen before they are ill and an overview of their general constitution provides insight into any underlying causes of imbalance and disease. Diet, cooking, yoga, breath-work, meditation and herbalism are all used to restore and maintain balance. Even if the medical side of Ayurveda leaves you unconvinced, some of its treatments are so relaxing they are worth doing anyway. The warm-oil drip, for instance, is almost guaranteed to reduce stress.
